Toyota has just introduced the C-HR 2.0L plug-in hybrid (PHEV), a new step in the C-HR product line, alongside the 1.8L and 2.0L hybrid variants. This version was first launched in selected markets last year.

C-HR PHEV uses Toyota’s fifth generation hybrid technology, with many significant improvements compared to the previous generation. The system includes redesigned components to reduce size and weight, along with improvements to the gearbox and power control, combined with a powerful high-voltage battery, to help balance performance and save fuel.

With a 2.0L 4-cylinder Dynamic Force engine and electric motor, the C-HR PHEV delivers a combined output of up to 223 PS, along with a range of up to 65 km in electric mode. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

The 2024 Toyota C-HR PHEV will come in many variants, including the sporty GR-Sport variant. It is expected that the car will be available on the UK market from July 2024.
