AUTOMOBILE MARKET AT THE END OF THE YEAR: Honda is in short supply, so if you want to order a car, you have to wait until after Tet

The end of the year is an exciting time for the auto market, but Honda is facing a special shortage of goods for some imported models such as HR-V, BR-V, and CR-V Hybrid.

According to a survey by PV VOV, the auto market is currently trending positively as purchasing demand begins to increase, and the number of customers coming to showrooms and closing contracts is also increasing.

Specifically, some car models such as Civic, HR-V, BR-V and CR-V Hybrid are currently available in limited quantities at dealers, with only certain colors and versions remaining, and many models even out of stock.

Mr. Vuong Xuan Nam, a customer in Hanoi, said he went to a Honda dealer to buy the Civic RS model but was informed that there was no car left, and if he wanted to buy it, he had to place an order and wait until the car arrived. The car will be available by the middle of the week or the end of January 2024.

He also shared – “Currently, Honda is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for many imported car models, but without a car, it is of no use. If you want to buy again, you have to wait until January or February 2024, then the incentives will end.”

A representative of another Honda dealer in Hanoi also confirmed the shortage, with many car models having only a few units left or even no more. It is difficult for customers to choose the desired color and version due to limited quantity.

Sharing from a sales staff of a Honda dealer, supply decreased due to chip shortage, causing not enough goods. Meanwhile, some other sources said that Honda is closing the warehouse so there are no more cars, and dealers will have to wait until 2024 to have stock.
