Lynk & Co comes to Vietnam through Tasco, a “big” company in the field of automobile and motorbike retail.

After Wuling and Haval, Lynk & Co is the next Chinese auto brand to set foot in the Vietnamese market in 2023. The official distribution announcement ceremony of Lynk & Co in Vietnam will take place on the afternoon of August 5. At Hanoi. The distributor of Lynk & Co in Vietnam is Tasco Joint Stock Company, operating in the fields of automobile services, transportation infrastructure, real estate, resorts, finance and insurance. This company owns Savico, one of the largest automobile distributors in Vietnam with annual vehicle sales of more than 11.2% market share.

According to Savico’s second quarter 2023 financial report, this distributor currently has 23 subsidiaries and 4 affiliated companies. Most of the companies under Savico operate in the field of business, maintenance, and supply of replacement parts for cars and motorbikes of the brands Volvo, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, VinFast, Yamaha,… September 2022, Carpla, a used car purchasing platform, cooperates to become part of the Savico ecosystem. This is probably the reason why Tasco was “chosen to send gold” by Lynk & Co.

In addition to the field of automobiles and motorbikes, Tasco is also a unit with extensive experience in the field of investment, construction and operation of ETC automatic toll collection systems.

Meanwhile, Lynk & Co is a subsidiary brand of the Geely group, founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2016. Geely is currently the 7th largest automobile manufacturer in China. In addition to Lynk & Co, this group also owns the automobile brands Geely, Volvo and Lotus.

In China, Lynk & Co has product ranges 01, 02, 03, 05, 06, 08 and 09, spanning the hatchback, sedan and SUV segments. What makes many people remember Lynk & Co is that its products use the same chassis and engine platform as Volvo models.

The company has not announced its product range in Vietnam, but internal combustion engine SUV models may be prioritized because they suit customer tastes. The company’s SUV product range includes 01, 05, 06 and 09.

Specifically, the Lynk & Co 01 model belongs to the C-size SUV segment. Model 05 belongs to the C-size SUV segment but has a hybrid Coupe design. Model 06 belongs to the B-size SUV segment. Model 09 belongs to the E-size SUV segment.

In addition, there are also rumors that the Chinese car company will bring back four models 01, 03, 05 and 09.

In addition to Wuling, Haval and Lynk & Co, later this year the Vietnamese market will also welcome the brands Omoda, Jaecoo, BYD and Haima. This is a signal that domestic customers have accepted Chinese cars, and Chinese car manufacturers have recognized business opportunities in Vietnam.
