At the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2023 exhibition taking place in Indonesia, Toyota displayed the B-class SUV Toyota Yaris Cross 2024, a competitor to the Honda HR-V. The car is expected to be sold in Vietnam in the third quarter of this year.
Indonesia is the production center for the new Toyota Yaris Cross and will export this model to Asian and South American markets, expected to include Vietnam.
The 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross has an overall length of 4,310 mm and a width of 1,770 mm, smaller than the Honda HR-V model with a length of 4,330-4,385 mm and a width of 1,790 mm. The Toyota’s 2,620 mm wheelbase is 10 mm longer than the Honda’s and the Yaris Cross’s 210 mm ground clearance is 196 mm higher than the HR-V. This means the Yaris Cross can go toe-to-toe with the HR-V, something the smaller Toyota Raize cannot, as it is slightly smaller.
In Indonesia, Toyota Yaris Cross 2024 is distributed with 3 variants G, S and S HV, with prices ranging from 351-440.6 million Rp (equivalent to 547-687 million VND).
For the G and S versions, power comes from a 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 106 PS and 138 Nm of torque, combined with front-wheel drive and CVT automatic transmission. The G version has the option of a 5-speed manual transmission.
The S HV version is a hybrid version that uses a combination of a 1.5L 91 PS/121 Nm naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a powerful 80 PS/141 Nm electric motor.
In terms of equipment, the G version has 17-inch alloy wheels (215/60 tires), LED headlights, front fog lights, 7-inch digital gauge cluster, 9-inch infotainment system. , supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, electronic handbrake with automatic brake hold feature, manual air conditioning, fabric seats, six airbags, blind spot monitoring, hill start assist , front/rear parking sensors and rear cross-traffic alert.
The S version adds 18-inch alloy wheels (215/55 tires), hands-free electric tailgate, electric driver’s seat, gear shift lever, driving modes (Eco, Normal, Power), dash cam, seats Leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning, 10.1-inch touch screen and panoramic screen. Toyota Safety Sense ADAS and automatic headlights are standard equipment.
The top S HV variant also adds a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade, a dedicated hybrid screen for the infotainment system, wireless phone charging and interior ambient lighting. In addition, the car is also offered with GR Parts Aero Package, which adds decorative accents to the front grille, rear bumper decoration and rear spoiler.
