Omoda, a sub-brand of Chery, launched the O5 GT sedan in 2022, adding to its product line alongside the regular O5 sedan and C5 SUV.
The Omoda O5 GT 4-door sedan is actually an updated version of the Chery Arrizo 5 GT, launched in China last year. This model seems to be refined with a design that is considered similar to Lexus models.
The highlight of the O5 GT lies in the large X-shaped grille, taking up most of the front bumper space, with a diamond-shaped mesh pattern. Besides, there are slim LED headlights and hook-shaped LED daytime lights. These details are almost copied from the design of Lexus models. At the same time, the vertical air intakes are also reminiscent of recently launched Toyota models.
Besides, the side and rear of the Omoda O5 GT have been upgraded from the O5 model, but a combination of Hyundai’s design style and the new generation of Volkswagen Virtus can also be felt. The car is equipped with a set of black sports wheels with a very prominent red brake cluster.
In terms of dimensions, the 4-door sedan has a length x width x height of 4,691 mm x 1,814 x 1,493 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.
Stepping inside the cabin, Omoda O5 GT impresses with two 10.25 inch screens combined into one, simulating the style of Mercedes-Benz cars. Some car details are decorated with faux carbon materials, creating a sporty feel, along with luxurious chrome borders. Black bucket seats contrast with red stitching and aluminum-wrapped pedals. The premium version also has the option of seats with heating and cooling functions along with the ADAS driving assistance system.
Regarding transmission capabilities, the Omoda O5 GT is equipped with a 1.6L turbo I-4 engine that produces 194 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, helping to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds.
